EC shall take a call on date of Assembly elections in J&K
J&K Governor SP Malik today addressed a press conference after opening ceremony of Civil Secretariat in Srinagar. During the press conference he said that the enquiry committee set up under the Chief Secretary shall ascertain the causes of various Political killings in the state and security withdrawl should not alone be treated as a reason for these political Killings. He said all killing including Killings of Security personnels has to stop.
Commenting on the conduct of Assembly elections in J&K, he said that he cant divulge the details of report forwarded by the state government, however the Election commission of India has to take a final call on dates if Assembly elections in J&K.
On being asked about the problems of Roads and Electricity faced by the people of Kashmir, he assured that Roads would be repaired on priority now and he also said that he himself sends transformers to people on recieving distressed calls on WhatsApp. He also said that inspite of threat calls and tight security people are going out to vote in Kashmir.
